A pianist shaped by Singapore's finest stages — and a teacher shaped by his students.
Ray Xinwei is a Singapore-based concert pianist and dedicated teacher. He first sat at the piano at the age of three, and within a decade was performing on some of the country's most respected concert stages.
A graduate of the School of the Arts (SOTA) and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), Ray studied under renowned pianists Lim Yan and Albert Tiu. His years of formal training shaped both his technical command and his thoughtful, expressive approach to music-making.
His repertoire spans the Classical and Romantic giants — from the architectural clarity of Bach and Beethoven to the colour and poetry of Chopin and Ravel. Audiences and adjudicators alike have praised the warmth, control, and storytelling in his playing.
For over 17 years, I've had the privilege of helping students of all ages discover the joy of music — from curious 4-year-olds to adults returning to the piano after decades.
